Cheap and Good Durian

Any bros know where to find Cheap & Good Durians? I visited with a few friends on 30 Dec'08 along Geylang Road. Those buggers really tried to kotok us. $15 to $20/kg. WTF. How to afford. This effectively means for each seed we pay about $3 to $4. Daylight and night time robbery. furious.giffurious.giffurious.gif

GIANT/ CARREFOUR AND OR NTUC EXTRA all got cheap durians.

Looks like that wud be quite impossible. Now the cheapest is $2/durian. Years ago, for the same size, it was going for $1/durian.

The irony is that now we having recession, but prices of food keep going up.

Really feel like starting a thread for those that have increased their prices.

I wack some durians at Bedok North blk 85...3 durians quite large for $10...very nice yellow flesh lol...have table & chairs for customers to open durian & wack...after that sore throat lor hahabiggrin

I went golfing at Kukup last Sat. On the way back, ate kampong durian at Rm2/kg. Quite good too. It's so cheap my friend bought about 20+ of the king of fruits. I only bought 4 as I had fill my stomach. Dragon fruits (Red flesh type) are also very cheap at Rm4/kg. In Singapore my place is selling it for S$5/kg.

So bros, if want to wack durian, this is the time which I think will last until end Jul'09.biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Bros, maybe I too choosy, I dun go for $1, $2...
Usually those 3 for $10 or 3 for $20 types...
Ocassionally $16 or $18 per kg '猫山王'. my favorite.

I recommend Jur West St 52 market outside blk 503.
Especially nw season, they still have 50cts, $1, $2 ones but u have to choose urself.
N my fav ''猫山王' price is offering abt $12/$13 per kg! Yummy!!

Going Durian tasting tour on Saturday. including seafood dinner..$60/-.organised by U-Live for teh over 55.
Next week going to golf and Oyster(chee hum)tasting tour in Zhuhai.biggrin

Bro, I think you misunderstood what I said. I said I had durian in Johor, Kukup where the durians are really cheap. So much cheaper than in Singapore. To me kampong durian is good as they have variety at low cost compared to GM durains.

And mind you, the Rm2/kg type are really good. For Rm3/kg, you can even better types.

Eh, I have to wait until net year end. So meanwhile will continue going to Johor for cheap and good durians. And yes, seafood at Gelang Patah "Tian Lai".

saw durian selling at 50cents at the junction of sim ave and sim dr
and many other stalls along the sim. smile

I like your lifestyle. A lot of travelling to places outside of Singapore. Take care though of the current H1N1 that is quite infectious at the moment.
