Why they care about credit status?

I'm in the midst of applying a VDL. While looking through various company application form, I can't help but to ask why they car about our credit status....some company even check on credit status. Is it you can't drive taxi if you are in debt, and/or bankrupt??

Hi Taxiboi

welcome to our forum...hope you'll find it useful especially for new cab drivers...we've many senior uncles here who can provide guidance...btw how you come across our forum?

coming back to your Q...assuming if you pick Comfort...they need you to open bank account with UOB...to open bank acct you need to deposite at least $500

also to register with Comfort you need to deposite with them $1000 upfront

so you see they need to verify your credit status

thanks for the welcome. I came across a forum last year when I first thinking of beoming a taxi driver. I dun knw whether was it the same forum host or not but recently did not manage to find that forum but chanced upon this forum.

Seriously. I'm surprise to get such a welcome and friendliness here. I can say more than some other car enthu forums I came across. Do keep up the good work here and you guys have definitely create a totally brand new image of taxi drivers.
