Hi all taxi uncles.... I have just sent in my TVL application to LTA by post. I know I still have a long way to go....no

I will definitely join the club after I get by TVL ! biggrin

If any taxi uncles have any tips or assistance to help me speed up my process to get my TVL is very much appreciated aww

There is no short cut to the process, everyone of us went thru the whole process...

Not really short cuts but rather tips for me to go thru the whole process so that will not waste time here and there due to inexperience.

there're many threads here on the topic you're asking...just spend a bit on your time (you have many hehe) to go thru & you'll find them useful to your questionsmile

Thank you. Yes I have actually went thru the threads for the past 2 or 3 days (full-time...hee hee...) and learnt a lot of things from all bros here...thank you.

Bro fairfare, I know it is too early to ask now but may I know the opening of bank accounts issues for GIRO purpose when you hire or as a relief for a cab coy whereby comfort strictly needs UOB and what about coys like SMRT, Transcab... I know SMART needs POSB/DBS which I am "comfortable" with since I have an existing account with POSB already. But for UOB, I "am not", so Comfort and Citycab will be out for me.

Bank account should not be d criteria to decide which cab you wanna drive...most important is to choose the coy you're comfortable with...then follow by bank a/c

to choose the right coy...again go thru many postings on d subject

Hi Bro.. Warmest Welcome!!! If not u r currently not working I advise u to take up Express Class directly from S.T.A once u got approval from LTA.. U will get to noe the results within 3 days once u have finished 5 tests N u will get to have your license within 5 days after u pass all the 5 tests Plus Touchwood incase u unable to pass 1 or 2 of the subject. Retest can be make asap by S.T.A & there's alot of good tips given by the instructor over there & a $368 allowance will be given by NTUC after 4 to 5 months when icense obtained..
