Children in a remote forest village known as Trov Pheang Ctas in Cambodia, are skilled in hunting for and cooking tarantulas -- which they consider a local delicacy.
Although these spiders can reach the size of an adult palm when fully grown, fear is a concept unknown to these children who hunt them with their bare hands as part of their daily lives.
The tarantula is first lured out of its den, then grabbed by its back just in front of the abdomen using two fingers to avoid a nasty bite.
It is then drowned -- and washed at the same time -- in a water bottle, before being cooked in hot oil.
The whole process from catching to cooking takes only 10 minutes.
It is said that the taste of this delicacy is edible yet unusual, and 'cannot be compared to anything else'.
Pictures 1 to 15 show these Cambodian children, while the rest of the gallery shows other unusual foods from around the world.
