STOMPer Marcus says he collided with a cabby who had run a red light, only to have the cabby claim that the lights had been in his favour
the next day (Dec 11). The STOMPer wrote: "On Dec 10 at 9.40pm, I was travelling along Still Road towards the direction of Parkway Parade. "When I was approaching the junction of Still Road and East Coast Road, traffic light turned green from my direction. I picked up speed and
drove on. "At the moment when I just crossed the traffic light, a SMRT taxi speed up to turn right into East Coast Road. I could not stop in time
and hit the front of the taxi. Immediately after I got down, I took photos of the accident and the traffic light at that point and time.
After exchanging details, we went our separate ways. "On the morning of Dec 11, I got to know that the taxi driver had claimed that traffic lights
were in his favour and thus I became the one who is in the wrong! "There was a traffic camera at that junction and I contacted Traffic Police
and was referred to LTA. The LTA replied that although there is traffic camera, the position was not pointing at the junction where the accident
happened and thus not able to provide me with any video clip of the accident. "As I had not yet installed an in-car camera in my vehicle, it¡¯s
now my word against the taxi driver¡¯s. "I am appealing to drivers who might passed by that junction at that point of time to assist to provide
a witness account of the traffic lightcondition at that point and time, or drivers who might had in-car cameras installed and may had captured
the traffic light condition at the moment of impact. "I am very sure I did not beat the traffic lights and the traffic lights had turned green before
I reached the junction. "I would be greatly appreciative of your kind assistance and at the same time, take the real rogue driver to task.
Thanking you in advance."
