STOMPer Jasline's Valentine's Day dinner was marred by a bad experience she had at the Sukiya restaurant at Marina Square. She said although her dinner set was supposed to include free ice cream, the ice cream dispenser was not working. She also
said that she was initially charged $1.50 for a cup of green tea which she did not order. Said the STOMPer: "It was Valentine's Day.
My boyfriend and I decided to have our dinner at Sukiya at Marina Square at about 6pm. "Upon reaching, there was a long
queue outside the outlet. "Since it was V-Day, we thought it was normal. However, we looked inside and saw lots of empty tables,
even more than ten! "Since they do not accept reservations, the table couldn't be reserved. We later found out that they didn't
allow customers of two to seat at tables for four! "Despite the long queue of couples, they still didn't open the tables. When
STOMP spoke to the STOMPer over the phone, she said that she and her boyfriend had to wait for people sitting on tables for
two to leave before they were finally seated. The STOMPer added: "And the service was not attentive. We ordered two sets of
adult dinner which includes free flow of ice-cream. "We went to the ice-cream dispenser but despite trying the machine many times,
no ice-cream was dispensed. "No staff informed us beforehand either about the dispenser being unavailable as it was 'not working'. "When paying our bill at the counter, my boyfriend kindly let the manager, who was settling our bill, know that they should inform
customers about the spoiled dispenser beforehand. "The manager, known as 'Rowena', as seen on her tag, just looked at him,
ignored him and continued settling our bill. "She then solemnly told us that she will be giving us a discount of $1.50 which was
the price of a cup of green tea. "We appreciated that but wondered why the cost was higher than we calculated. "Checking our
receipt, we realised that she charged us an additional $1.50 for a cup of green tea instead of giving us a discount when we did
not order any drinks! "We went back to inform her about the mistake and she looked grim. Without an apology, she simply gave
us back the $1.50 which she charged additionally. "The $1.50 was charged in the 7% GST and 10% service charge, which meant
she still overcharged us. "We were not even given the $1.50 discount which she said she would. "We decided to just leave and we were very disappoint with our worst dining experience at Sukiya @ Marina Square."
