Knife-wielding man attacks 3 at Sun Plaza after queue for newspapers turns violent
While waiting in line to buy a special edition of the evening papers at Sun Plaza yesterday, a group of three men bumped into another man in the queue. Things turned violent, leaving a total of three injured.
The queue was for Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News which came with a free sachet of coffee powder and four lucky numbers in a red packet, reported The New Paper.
When the group bumped into a man around 5.50pm, angry words, threats and vulgarities were exchanged. Later, the 39-year-old man spotted the group at the back of Sun Plaza and chased them with an 18cm-long knife.
Two men in their 40s and the 39-year-old were taken via ambulance to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, said the SCDF. The 39-year-old was also arrested by police for voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous means.
