Hi, I managed to pass my test in one sitting lately.I am not sure toregister with Taxi company first or to get a hirer first. How can Iget a hirer who is staying near my place. I did call few taxi companies, they ask me come down with my license and register with them as well attend their company course. Is this the right way ? I am very confused. How if I register with company A and I managed to get Hirer from company B, then I need to attend course and pay registration fees at company B again ? I am staying atCircuit rd, willing to do day shift on Sat/Sun & Public holidays. I seriously looking into earning extra income to finance my agedmum's medical fees. I can be reached @ 82928005.Kindly advise.
I am also a newbie (a few months older) and would like to share my experience.
You have 2options -one is to find a hirer first then register and pay deposit/insurance (attend MDT course) as relief driver at the same company. Another is to register with the company you prefer, attendMDT course and look for a hirer. For convenience, it would be better to find a hirer near your vicinity. You can post your ad to look for hirer at the Notice board & Ads section.
Hope I am on the right track. Seniors do correct me if I'm wrong.
Cheers!

For me, I found my hirer first, then registered with the same Co. as my hirer. I am with SMRT.
If you want to join taxi Co. first, then join Comfort Delgro as you will have a better chance of finding a hirer.
You live at Circuit Road. There should be quite a number of taxi drivers there. If I am not wrong, there is a taxi kiosk (Comfort?) just opposite the entrance to Balam Road, situated at the carpark of Blk 37. You can drop by there to enquire. Maybe got some hirers looking for relief. Good Luck.

Might be good to know if you hold a day job. As u may want to plan ur working hrs or shift. Like for myself i work from tuesday to Fri. Thus i drive from Sat 530am till monday 5:30am, thats when i have the whole taxi to myself. How I would want to drive is entirely up to me. I go on off for monday.
If you work from monday to Friday then u might want to arrange ur shift in such a way that u get ample rest on sunday nite before u start work on mon.
right now i realised i got one ah lau driving SMRT crown near me.. so am considering approaching him if we can share cab.. rather then my hirer who is a distant away from me.
Hi, I heard, as a hirer for Transcab, for each super relief you engaged, there is an admin fee of $35 dollars. I am surprise that there is such a high fee because it is a big burden for anyone who "switches" relief. Anyone could confirm here...???

Yup, for Transcab, apart from the security deposit, you need to pay the admin fee for EACH individual vehicle you are going to register with, including both relief & super relief drivers.
3. Go to each taxi company's main office & ask for the list of hirer looking for relief. For CDG & SMRT, they have a list there & you need to ask for it. If lucky to find one, then register with that company.
4. Write your name, contact, preferred shift & timing on pieces of paper & start go to your nearby carparks and put on the windscreen. If you are going for day shift, only put paper in the daytime & not in the night.
All the best to both your findings & to Tina, hope your mum is doing fine now.
If not preference for company, go comfort and register yourself.
After that, u can access their portal and get the matching service.
Quite plenty of hirers and it's frequently updated.
I've recently find a hirer within a week of searching.
Hope his helps.
