If u join the talkie group of course you will have real time PNG info. Sure earn more.

hi bros

yes... i think once i hit the road..everything follow up ...i am not askin alot , and i think by driving a cab , i should be able to bring 3 meals home..thats already very encouraging..
and yes, bro if the walkie grp is a additional add on for my income, its worth considering , whats it about..

Anyway ,no one can answer me about the TVL after the passing of the E test...is it i posting at the wrong post/section? do enlighten me..

Saw from posting that most hirer doesnt want to rent out to new relief, why is it so? in that case, wouldnt it be hard for new TD to be relief? and we will be force to be hirer...

Any bros can share the pros and cons of becoming a hirer and a relief? as well as the latest offer from Silvercab and Comfort.

MY latest check wtith the 2 company as a new TVL TD is as follows :

Silver cab
a) 24 days free rent on alternate Sundays
b) rental from 102-103 nett
c)Deposit is $250 ( not $1000 )
d) After 3 moths ,they will pay extra $250 but only add to your deposit.
e) After 6 months . another 250 to your deposit
f) 9th month, another 250, meaning at the end of 9 months you will have 1000 in your deposit, 250 fr0m y0ur pocket, 750 from the company, if you decide to leave after 9 months,
the 1000 is yours to keep ( ONLY FOR NEW TVL GUYS ) ( if you be relief, and come back no more incentive, deposit is 1000)
g)300 accident free bonus every 6 months
i) $0.88 diesel price at their own station
j) Road tax rebate of $76 per month to your account. Or lump sum credit of $651. ( this one i not very sure)
h)1-2 yr old Kia MEgantis, can take car immediate.
i) NO CONTRACT, 2 weeks notice to throw key
j) no call service

Comfort/CItyvab
a) 3 days rent free per year ( if i dun remember wrongly)
b) rental 103-105
c)1-2 yr old Sonata, must queue for 2-3 months
d) Crown no stock for blue, only yellow
e) Deposit 1000, payable in 4 instalments
f)Loyalty incentive, i forget how much per month liao ( like 200 is it)
g) 12 months contract
i) got call service

any more info kind brothers here can share...
I was thiking, for this time while i am waiting for TVL, i can compare and select, as while as try to get a hirer around my place and also trying to do some survey and road understanding...

Pls help guys
much apreicate.

You can read some of the other threads which already offer answers eg: putting notes on wind screen of cab around your area, widen the area if necessary, post here, register with cab companies.....
You may like to tell the hirer that you have done some weekend relief before and now decide to go full time relief (just my opinion) Key point is we must be responsible drivers.

Tink nothing you can do now, but wait for the letter to arrived from LTA and collect the TVL at the date stated in the letter

When I just gotten my TVL, talked to several hirers but nobody willing give me a try.
Hirer don't like PT relief who just gotten TVL, reason:
- Some newbies can't take the challenge, throw key within a short period so wasting their time go down to do registration.
- Some newbies not a seasoned driver so % axxxdxxt higher.
- Some newbies are too calculative (hirers also but they dun have mirror to seesmile.gif )

When you become a relief, fail to do the following will be fired:
- drive carefully, maintain internal neat and clean
- honestly fully fill up dissel as per agreed standard
- wash and clean the taxi in and out before hand over
- punctual, don't eat hirer's time
- when hirer need urgent leave try to help whenever you could
- most important, pay punctually smile.gif

I prefer CDG, IMO, booking is very important especially raining or trapped inside ulu area (e.g. after sending pax to Raffles Marina @ midnite no booking sure die die). Without booking your income at least cut 10 to 15%.

hi bro bluenutz

sorry i think its 6 months contract with CDG, but got to queue long for the car..and in the mean time, they cant offer you a blue Crown,no more stock liao..
seems like business is good for them now, as more ppl are picking up TD as a profession.
somehow i think TD are moving to a newer generation, and its a revolution in my opinion, more and more educated, younger people are getting sick and tired of the corporate rat race, office politics, and some hit hard by the economy tsunami, turn to TD.

to bridgestone bro

thanks for the reply, ya. i underestand where you are coming from , try calling a few hirer , but all jialat one leh, first qns is you new ah..better go company ask la..kns..

seems like i may have no choice but to become a hirer myself ,and then i can be a good hirer, helping newbies..haha....
i can rent out my day shift ....and drive 4-4pm.....
somehow it all boils down to maximising profits and takings as a hirer, how to cover the additional rental if its OMO and the most optimal timing for drving...
any advice around if any

oh ya..to newbies or TD want to be, there is a forum on sgforums about TD, alot of information and insights, from seniors who are willing to share their secrets of driving, timing and places to pick up pax....check it out if you want to know more..its quite informative.....

Bro GT, my observation day shift is much easier than nite perhaps other sifus can advice you.
From morning 6am, 7~8~9~10 many many pax awaiting along road side rush to school and office because they are late. You may probably fully cover your cost if you can make use of these few hours.

Night shift now damn jialat, ppl got no money no mood to spend. Night time very quiet, long taxi Q everywhere + no guarantee you will have a big flag. I Q 1hr @ St James, finally got a pax go Depot Rd... $7.8 incl midnite.

I 100% agree it is not good start for newbie handling rush job when unfamiliar with way to go.
At 9:30am, pax from Tanjong Rhu hey uncle go One George, I am late must be there within 15 minutes... go ECP faster. If not familiar sure dare not exit marina then damn jialat.

Probably unavoidable, most of the pax who takes taxi are in some kind of rush bound to encounter a few who are pushy.

Take it as part of the learning process. Most if not all the Uncles here are graduates of University of Hard Knocks.

Cheers
