A hot bowl of noodles with a drink costs $2.80 at Terrace Cafe at Quality Hotel Singapore.
Makan Sites Singapore, May 5, 2009 - A hot bowl of noodles, with a drink, at $2.80? This must be good news to some during these times.
Pop down to Terrace Cafe at Quality Hotel Singapore for that.
The laksa served is unlike the traditional dish. This version is quite light, leaving plenty of room for a second serving or more.
It comes with a generous portion of local ingredients such as tofu puffs and hard-boiled quail’s eggs.
The other choice is the prawn mee.
It reminds me of Penang hokkien prawn mee, albeit a less spicy version.
Everything else is not much more expensive too.
Grilled squid smothered in spicy sambal belacan available from Quality Hotel Singapore.
You can get barbecued and grilled offerings such as grilled ginger marinated chicken chop and lamb chop (both priced at $3 per piece) from 6pm to 12am daily.
Chicken or mutton charcoal grilled satay is also available at $4.50 for half a dozen.
The chicken and mutton satay were pretty tasty.
The peanut sauce was smooth and veered slightly on the sweetish side.
For steak lovers, the cafe also offers shallot and rosemary sirloin steak at only $5 a piece.
The grilled lamb chop was okay, athough it was a bit tough.
Besides the alfresco setting, diners can also choose to indulge in a meal in the comfort of Terrace Cafe’s lounge.
