Good catch by cops in stopping convertible with woman seated on top of seat
STOMPer Kelly spotted a convertible car that had been stopped by police. The woman had been spotted not sitting in the car seat but was instead seemed to be sitting on the car body itself.
Said the STOMPer:
"It's Singapore, dude!
"This picture was taken near the former Singapore Badminton Hall at Guillemard Road.
"There were three Chinese nationals seated in a convertible car, and see where the back seat lady is sitting.
STOMPer Angela and her colleagues were working on an assignment near the ECP at Marina South at about 5.55pm today (May 12) when she saw a chain collision involving seven cars.
Said the STOMPer: "Seven cars crashed together and caused a massive jam on the ECP at Marina South. "Luckily, there were no casualties."
Tailgating cars on ECP end up in pile-up -- causing one to overturn
STOMPer James spotted an accident along the ECP near Marina Bay in which several tailgating cars were involved in a pile-up, with one car having overturned.
This happened only metres away from the site of a 10 car pile-up that occurred last week on Dec 28. "I witnessed this horrific accident frommy office window
this afternoon. "The traffic in the right lane jammed brakes and a number of tailgating cars were involved in a pile-up, with one car that swerved to miss the
cars in front managing to clipanotherand flip over. "Interestingly, this accident happened only metres from last week's 10 car pile-up. "Given how the traffic police
said they would crack down on bad drivinga fewmonths ago, why is it that we actually see nothing happening in this aspect, except for the traffic police and LTA
pulling over the odd 'Ah Beng' for a loud exhaust? "Rather than chasing after something easy andnon-life-threatening, whenare localauthorities going toactually
physically do somethingabout the terrible driving in Singapore? "At the end of the day, it is merely as simple as enforcingthe rules thatexist in the first place, let
alone the fact that less accidents would improve traffic flow and possibly allow us all cheaper car insurance!"
