The newly refurbished food centre at Blk 75 Toa Payoh Lorong 5 will be reopening on Dec 1 following six months of upgrading.
Business will resume progressively as stalls complete their renovation works.
Improvements to the food centre include increased seating capacity to accommodate more patrons during peak periods and a new passageway has been created in the middle of the centre.
Prior to the upgrading, which cost a total of $1.25 million, the 36 cooked food stalls were located in one single row from one end of the centre to the other.
With the new passageway, the stalls are now divided into two clusters and patrons will be able to move more conveniently to the stalls.
All cooked food stalls are now equipped with new mechanical exhaust systems to improve ventilation within the centre.
The faade has also been given a facelift with bright tones and colours, and now has improved fire safety features and upgraded toilet facilities.
Space has also been set aside within the upgraded centre to support implementation of tray-return in the future.
