now i am going into full study mode for the test on 10/12... the mock test was scary... never expected the questions to be so tricky... sibeh demoralised liao
chiku auntie, i wont drink and drive... too many licences on the line... haha. but thanks for your advise
Hey flykite,
All the best..No wonder your picture looks familiar. Mr Seah also teach at citycab?
Does he still joke about "wa um zai, wa beh hiao, I don't know"?

Our trainer just jokingly told us, Learn To Accept (LTA).
flykite wrote:
wah junior lex why you have practice papers one? so good some of the routes simply don't make sense... ridiculous to enter and traverse the entire CBD just to enter expressway (Route 13, 33), or go through several well-known bottlenecks (Route 2), or to enter ERP twice (Route 16), or simply a route that is slightly shorter but full of traffic lights (Route 23, 25, 39)
but LL when trainer said "You want your licence?"
two routes have been changed to utilise the KPE (15, 26), and woodlands checkpoint to airport is directly to BKE instead of going through old woodlands center
somemore was told if passenger complain, LTA will take the shortest route and sentence us on that... sibeh ridiculous
good thing is at least got DVD to watch the routes from in-car camera... can visualise better
Junior, i think hor.. read and memorise good enough, cos the 40 routes i have, they provide visual road direction, helps me to memorise better
Yeah Niteowl. Visualise easier to remember by heart too.
just to share, sometimes they may confuse you, cairnhill circle, cairnhill road.. or vice versa..Mt E link.. or Mt E...this route going to paragon came out for me twice. The other is from Plaza Singapura to Jln Tiong area..
sometimes it could be XXXX Road but they change to XXX Lane... so becareful lo. dont get tricked.

yes yes yes... his famous quotes "wa um zai, wa beh hiao, I don't know" , "gong wu gong bo" , " lucky you come to my class" , "how can you fail.."
Hi Junior bro. I was from class 08/13 and i already took my final test and passed. Actually to me, the key thing to do is to watch the video and also write down all the 40 routes. If 1 wrong, write everything again until u get perfect. That's what i did and i got 100% for the 40 routes. And also, please read word for word in the exam because it has tricked many people so in the end only 4 passed.
P.S : please make sure you know the route especially from Shunfu housing estate (shunfu rd) to Temasek Poly (tampines ave 1) which consists of the 7 bsssssss :D
This is just a small piece of advice that i can share and hope you get your licence during your first try :) Best of luck to you.
Welcome to taxi driving. TDVL is just the first step. Many more challenges ahead. Remember, health is better than wealth because if you exchange your health for wealth now, you will end up paying wealth (medical fee) for health (visiting doctors and taking medicine).
Since I started last year, I found that initially you can chiong but after a few months, you should think long term. Making $7000 per month (like what our friend claimed in the newspapers) is possible only when you eat and **** in the cab and everyday is a lucky day.
Remember, join Taxi Uncle Palringo and we help each other to serve the passengers better (and make more money than other non-members) along the way.
Good luck and drive safe.....HUAT......Ahhhhhhhhhh....
