I have always gone all the way out to avoid drunkards by avoiding pub areas but suay suay this happened to me....
I picked up two men from Balestier Rd last Sat afternoon. It didnt occur to me the older man (60+ yo) was drunk. He was slurring in his speech and I thought he was intellectually challenged. It was after a while that i realised he was drunk. On the way to Toa Payoh, he started to hurl hokkien vulgarities at me for no rhyme or reason. I remained silent cos his younger friend (40+ yo) kept restraining him and apologise to me. When we reached his destination, he touched my shoulder to tell me to stop. I moved away and told him off, that he cannot touch me. Then he refused to get down the cab, kept throwing tantrum. I lost my cool by then, i screamed at him to get out. He then wanted to beat me up! What a f**king loser.
Had his friend were not with him, I would have kicked him outta of cab or drive him to polis station.
I have been thinking about this and decided I will stop my cab at a place with many people and get outta of taxi and screamed for help first and call police. That should work

During my TDVL course, my trainer advised us for such incidents (drunk and refused to go off), we can drive to the nearest Police Station and let the police settle with him. Also tell the police that our life is in danger.

Niteowl, why do you need pax's permission to use GPS?
I told u i use it with almost every trip. TO me, its a tool to provide better service and safer driving, so why need to ask pax permission?
Chiku Jie and Junior LEx,
Eh.. just ask lo.. I would just say can go this route or use GPS, sometimes pax jus say 'nevermind, i just drive i guide u.. sometimes they show me shortcuts..so just learn shortcut
heee.. so chiku Jie, u dun ask ah? jus say ok.. eg. .. jurong.. thn ur hand press press gps liao..?
Even if pax say no need, I still set gps just in case pax give last min directions which is very dangerous. Many pax dont realise that we need to keep let to turn left. With the GPS, I can anticipate the next turn. So i will ask the pax if turn left/right/go straight next to pre-empt.
Its true pax is a good source to teach us the short cuts. GPS will not teach u these short cuts. Though I discover some by mistakes.
