I drove through MCE this afternoon from ECP towards AYE. Was a frustrating experience. I was heading to exit Central Blvd to get to Cross Street but didnt get to do so cos of the massive jam and confusion. So at the end I took the lane with lesser traffic and turned out from Rochor exit.
I am sure the traffic is going to be massive tomorrow morning when people get to work and even worst next week when more people comes back from their hols.
Does anyone know if there is a system map of MCE so we have a better how to get where? Many thanks in advance
Coming from AYE(Jurong), how do you get to Rochor road?
You have to exit at Exit 2 into Central Blvd, before you enter the MCE tunnel. Proceed along Central Blvd until you come to a Y junction. Keep right and turn into Sheares Ave where you will join back the old ECP and then exit at Exit 15 to Rochor Rd, as in the old way. There are signs indicating Rochor Rd along Central Blvd, but not at Exit 2. Exit 2 only indicates Central Blvd. Have written to LTA ask them to indicate Rochor road at Exit 2 signage.
After watching the LTA video (view here), I thought it was going to be smooth-sailing. Unfortunately, it’s still work-in-progress with 6 to 9 months more to go before it’s completion. Today, I put on my rough-rider costume to check it out. After 90 kms on the road, all I can say is, tomorrow is going to be a very trying day for motorists passing the area.
With my super-4, I squeezed thru jams in the Marina Bay area. It’s going to take a while for blur motorists who seldom come here to re-adjust and get used to the new “format”. The first headache is that most will be caught offguard as a section of the old ECP is now closed. Some parts shown in the video (link provided above) are also not yet operational.
Motorists travelling from the ECP towards AYE would probably have the easiest time tomorrow (Monday, 30th Dec ’13). Once you take the exit 14B (just before exit 14 to KPE), you enter the MCE which brings you straight to the AYE. On the other hand, traffic from the opposite direction will be a nightmare.
With the redrawing of the CBD boundary, motorists passing thru the MCE would enter the CBD the moment they exit via Central Blvd.
Here’s my rough-n-ready guide to getting around the Marina Bay and Marina South area. However, as it’s still work-in-progress, directions can change at a moment’s notice. (I apologise for any errors, if any.)
From Changi Airport along ECP to MCE
1. Exit 14B leads to MCE (before Marina Bay Golf course)
2. Along MCE, Take Exit 3
· Turn left to Marina Coastal Drive towards Marina South Pier and MBCC
· Straight then turn right to Central Blvd to go to MBFC
3. Along MCE, take Exit 1 towards Maxwell Rd and Shenton Way
4. Proceed further to connect to AYE
From Changi Airport along ECP to End
The ECP diverts into Marina St and ends abruptly at Marina Station Rd. You need to turn right at Marina Station Rd and proceed straight.
1. Turn left at Central Blvd to go to Shenton Way/Cross St
OR
2. Cross Central Blvd straight towards Marina Way and right into Marina Blvd.
From Fort Rd
1. Turn right into slip road. This brings you directly to the MCE. At the moment, you can also use this slip road to re-enter MCE in case you have exited wrongly, by making a U-turn into this slip road.
From KPE
1. Take the right bend which leads you straight to the MCE (left bend exits to ECP/Changi).
From Tuas along AYE towards East
This section is not 100% ready. However, once inside the MCE :
1. First, take Exit 2
· Turn left to go to Central Blvd
· Straight then turn right to go to Marina Coastal Drive towards Marina South Pier and MBCC
2. Take Exit 5 to go to Fort Rd and ECP towards Changi
From Sheares Ave towards ECP
1. Exit left to Rochor
2. Exit left to KPE/TPE
3. Exit left to join Fort Rd
From Marina Blvd towards Marina Coastal Drive
1. Turn left to connect to MCE towards KPE/ECP
2. Turn right to connect to MCE towards AYE
3. Go straight towards Marina South Pier and MBCC.
From Maxwell Rd to MCE or Marina South
1. Take sharp left turn, proceed and turn right into Central Blvd, then left into Marina Way (pass MBFC Twr 3), right into Marina Blvd towards Marina Coastal Dr and MCE.
Take note :
· Sheares Ave criss-crosses Marina Blvd and Central Blvd
· Marina Blvd (one-way only) leads to Marina Coastal Dr
· Marina Coastal Dr leads to :
1.Marina South (Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage, Marina South Pier, MBCC)
2.MCE (KPE/ECP)
3.MCE/AYE.
· Central Blvd leads to Cross St/Shenton Way

How come distance run is 44.9km? It's like travelling from West to East or vice versa. Jam only at CBD area wat. If travel from either Jurong West to CBD or Changi Airport to CBD, at most 22km nia.

Taxi fare from Bishan to Marina Bay Financial Centre after the taxi driver got lost three times.
from east to west is not much changes except you have a new tunnel leading to the AYE instead of using the old ECP bridge.
for going to GBTB, you should use the old ECP bridge all the way pass the rochor exit > shears ave > marina boulevard
