A polytechnic student punched a cabby after his girlfriend's motorbike collided with a taxi at Woodlands Street 12 on the night of Mar 10 (Mon).
According to omy.sg, the female motorcyclist, twenty-year-old Shamila, had just got her licence three months ago.
Shamila was thrown off her bike when she collided with the taxi and suffered abrasions on her face.
In fear of her being scarred, her boyfriend was so angry that he threw a punch at the 50-year-old cabby.
The cabby was switching from the left lane to the right lane when he unknowingly collided with the motorbike.
He then saw Shamila and her boyfriend both fall off the bike onto the road, reports Shin Min.
He said: "I wanted to check whether they were injured, but not only did her boyfriend stop me, he even threw
a punch on my left cheek." His face was swollen, but during the interview with the reporter, he just shook his
head and said he would not pursue the matter. According to SCDF, Shamila and her boyfriend were sent to
Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. However, when Shamila's mother reached the scene, which is near where they live,
both of them were already sent to the hospital. She was very worried when she saw the bloodied helmet.
Next Saturday happens to be Shamila's birthday, and they plan to go to Sembawang Park for a barbeque,
but now they are unsure if plans still can proceed.
She hopes that she will recover in time to celebrate her birthday.
