I've been driving taxi for 1 year + but never get any fine at all. You have to have self-control over the emotion when comes to the speed limit, especially for day drivers.
Bear in mind: You drive fast or slow, pax pay you the same amount. You step hard on the accelerator to move off faster but cause higher fuel consumption everyday in returns, the meter runs the same.
Another pal gotten 12 demerit point and $200 fine.
Why so pai tan one as taxi driver..? We drive and sweat like dunno what and we gotten so many ****s..
That's because as taxi drivers, you travel all over Singapore unlike those who drive their own cars. There are many roads with speed limits of 70km/hr only. Adam road is one of them. There are also many others with speed limits of 60km/hr. Tampines Ave 1 and Hougang Ave 3 are examples. Then, those roads with no speed limit signs are only 50km/h.
As TDs, part of our job is to know which are the notorious roads that the TP usually hide to catch speeding drivers. The 3 roads that I have mentioned are notoriously famous.
