Long back in year 2002- 2003, Singapore Taxi Academy and Singapore Tourism Board in collaboration having this course called the Singapore Tourist Guide.
However the failure rate is like 80%..
Thereafter, they scrapped the course..
Those who wished to become a Taxi tourist guide have to take a tourist licensed guide from Singapore Tourist Board themselves.
Course fee is probably $3000 ++ .. if you can pass within the first try you are allowed to claim back 90% of it from WDA.
Potentially, this career allow taxi driver to conduct guide courses for tourist and get paid hourly.. say 65 an hour at tourist spot..
This course is being introduced by my course instructor that time when I am studying the TDVL with him at STA..
